Spoke and valve lights make you visible from the side, which is where most intersection collisions come from and exactly where your head and tail lights do nothing. They're a supplement to proper front and rear lights, not a replacement. Check the clip fits your spoke gauge and that the housing is genuinely waterproof rather than just splash-resistant.
