Match the speed count to your shifter — an 11-speed shifter needs an 11-speed cassette. Also check whether your hub takes a cassette on a splined freehub or a screw-on freewheel, because the two are not interchangeable. Wider ranges give you an easier climbing gear at the cost of bigger jumps between shifts.
